The Qatar Swimming Federation's electoral general assembly elected Mr. Mubarak Ali Al-Nuaimi as president of the federation for the next session 2024-2028. This came during the electoral general assembly meeting that was held in the Lusail Hall of the Qatar Olympic Committee today, Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in the presence of all members and after the legal quorum for the elections was completed and in the presence of representatives of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Mr. Ebrahim Youssef Al-Boinin was also elected as Secretary-General of the Federation and Mr. Hussein Saleh Al-Sada, Rashid Khalid Al-Mohannadi and Saoud Muhammad Al-Jehani as members of the Board of Directors.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Khalil Ibrahim Al Jaber, the former President of the Federation, and attended by the members of the Board of Directors. Al Jaber wished the elected Board success and expressed his confidence in the new administration to achieve the desired goals and upcoming entitlements by sitting on the podiums and completing the journey of the Qatar Swimming Federation with its three games: swimming, diving and water polo.
During the meeting, the achievements of the Qatar Swimming Federation in recent years were reviewed, as well as the plans for the 2024-2025 sports season, which seek to increase the hosting of various sporting events, including swimming, diving, water polo, and community activities, which in turn raise awareness in the community about practicing various water sports under the slogan “Swimming for All”, which aims to develop young talents in the country.
During the meeting, the Federation’s financial budget was approved, the minutes of the previous meeting were ratified, and the future strategy of the Federation was discussed, as well as plans to prepare the sports teams for the three games in preparation for the upcoming events.
In turn, Mr. Mubarak Ali Al Nuaimi, President of the Federation, thanked the members of the General Assembly and the members of the old council for their great efforts in developing the sport of swimming and achieving positive results locally and internationally and hosting major international events that have had great resonance and success on the global level.
The President of the Federation also announced the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Olympic Committee, with the blessing of the General Assembly, that Mr. Khalil Al Jaber be the Honorary President of the Federation for his extensive experience and for his contributions to the service of Qatari swimming.
The President expressed his aspirations for the Federation to continue its series of achievements and successes in the Federation’s three sports and achieve the best results in the coming period, especially since the country is about to host the 2030 Asian Games, stressing the need to continue cooperation and partnership with various institutions, clubs, sports bodies and private centers in the country to advance Qatari swimming towards achieving more successes and excellence.
